No. IIRC K4-K6 (maybe K7) are compatible with each other.
K3 isn't compatible with anything else. K8+ (I'm not sure if the K7's have this too...) have a new air sensor in the exhaust link pipe, and dual TPS's, therefore the ECU isn't compatible with previous years. Give me half an hour or so to finish my pizza & I'll double check the above (I'll edit this post accordingly). EDIT: OK, I've finished my pizza, and looked through the microfische's. saoralba below is technically correct, but missing a little difference. Model numbers below: K3, K4, K5 (European/Canadian), K6 (European/Canadian) have 32920-17G20. The ECU's on these models are interchangable. K5 (Californian) and K6 (Californian) have 32920-17G40. This is due to random emissions laws in California. K7's get 32920-17GD0 across the board. K8 (European/Canadian) has 32920-17GC0, whereas the Californian version has a K7 ECU. I couldn't find a microfische for K9's. A restricted ECU, I suspect is simply the correct year/location ECU loaded with a different map by Suzuki. Last edited by Baph; 19-05-09 at 07:38 PM. |

I took a un identified 33 bhp restrictor, put it in my K3, and its now in my K5.
No problems so far. I presumed everything before the lamba(or whatever it is) sensor was interchangable. |

I wouldnt personally ever buy new. You make such a loss with its age. Besides, there will be no money left for a can

I think anything above £3000 is a weird price to pay because there isnt a huge step up to the new price. Im going to spend between £2500 - £3000 when i get mine.

For your first bike I'd personally cut your budget and save the rest for a better bike when your off the restrictor.
