Yea, unfortunately that lever had worn a little. Just the damn lacquer come lose and let some water in. Sand it back and re lacquer and it should be fine I think. (and it does look worse in the photo than in person...)

Looking forward to see the finished product, especially since my bike has donated an organ

haha yup that's what i was going to do, will strip more of the lacquer back and make sure its proper sanded back

and yes does look worse in the pic
