Default SV1000 Quick Action throttle

I know I asked this before and the response was "Don't know. try it and let us know...."

So just one last try before I waste my money.

Anyone know if the R6 throttle tube mod works on the thou?

Or anyone had success with any other sort of throttle tube.

Ta,
Mark

I know this is an old thread but searching the org yeilded no answers to this question.

Maybe there are other threads detailing this but anyway, the answer is YES, the R6 throttle tube can be fitted straight onto the SV1000.

It only needs some of the cable guide on the tube trimming off. Just look at your old throttle and make it look the same BUT be careful as the plastic is very brittle and you can end up taking off more than you wanted to!!

Is it a good thing to do? For me, absolutely!
It does mean that bumps in the road can make the engine lurch a bit more but the benefit of unlocking the full potential of the engine when you want it quickly is awesome.

Before I was riding the bike pretty much only using 80-90% of the available throttle and too lazy to move my wrist further round, but now I'm loving the instant squirt to max thrust!!

So yeah just order this number from your Yamaha parts supplier and enjoy: 5SL-26240-01-00
(I used Wemoto LINK)

Yeah dead easy, took me about 20 minutes total.

Of course remember to slacken the throttle cables too and then adjust to your liking.

I'm sure you could add heated grips, the R6 tube under the grip is pretty standard diameter as far as I can tell.

the r6 throttle tube is a pita to get onto the naked type throttle as the push cable is not long enough.
