you don't need to completely remove the little screw holding the metal spring clip in position, it's a bitch to get back in if you do

only did it once

I can't even twist the fitting to release it from the housing to see the actual bulb. Is it just a twist type operation?

Managed the side lights no problem..........

and it has now started raining.

from ye olde archives:

http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=89667

essentially...

unscrew plastic plate

reach in and remove rubber water cover (needs a good pull)

unclip metal spring thing

old bulb falls out, replace with new bulb

replace clip (you didn't take the screw out did you?)

replace rubber boot

replace plastic bit of fairing

enjoy

That has got to be one of the most stressful 45 mins of my life!!!!

And was it worth it - I'm not too sure. You can all be the judge!

One side took me about 40mins and once you have done one, the other took about 5 mins.

I take my hat off to everyone who services their own bikes or anything similar.

I have made my mind up about my evotech tail tidy, when it comes it is ever being sent back or going to EC Bate for fitting!!!

Admittedly the light wan't great and I had the 'ump.

How do I know if they are straight? From what I could see they only went in one way so could only ever be straight.

I need to learn to wait until I have proper time for this stuff, not do it in the works car-park with cufflinks and double-cuffed shirt on - tw*t!

Doesn't look like £24.99 worth of difference!

i'm LMAO right now, double cuffs must be a nightmare in that small space, i had to take my watch off

i changed mine the day i bought the bike, they were definately whiter than the stock bulbs - try them out at night and see if there's an improvement

edit: they're straight because the bulbs have three alignment pins, they can only go in one way and then they're held flat by the springy clip

I have a clean shirt and another pair of cufflinks if you would like to borrow them, apparently its all the rage for budding mechanics these days.......NOT!

I just wish I could learn to wait, they have been on my desk all day just begging me to fit them.

All you lot make it out to be so easy.........when I say I'm rubbish I really mean that......

Well done for getting there with the bulbs and posting the pics.

It will be interesting to see what you think of them having used them in the dark.

The daylight appearance is an improvment, but like you say whether it's £25 of improvement remains to be seen.
