Speed

Just wondering what everyones attitude to speed is, do you like to go lightspeed or are you a laid-back snail pace?

I'm laid back that way. If there's a good clear road I'll go faster, but I'm on a 33BHP restriction for another 2 months so can't go that fast anyway.

I'm also an inexperienced rider, so am still slow in corners, but getting better. My aim is to take the correct line, and become good at cornering, rather than speed at this point. Once I can do that, Ireckon I'll become faster anyway.

Depends on the mood and type of ride, on the commute I'll trundle on or around the limits.

In the car, I can keep to the limits generally. Never normally faster than 80 on the motorway.....but on the bike I have absolutely zero self restraint. I go faster than I should everywhere (except 30s and 40s). National speed limit is fair game.

Much the same as DD. I will ride according to the conditions.

Ive put faster than some as in the corners I love to push it and seem to be able to catch/ leave people.

In a streight line though im generally not thrashing the **** out of the bike, ill cruise to the next corner most of the time. Corners are where the fun is imo.

does it really need saying, when i can i absolutly cane it, full throttle and top speed if i can. obviously slow down for the corners and try to get faster and smoother in each corner. I have my own set of cornere i can gauge my improvement on.

30s and 40s are the only limits I have any regard for, other roads I treat at my discretion. That usually means that any decent A or B road is just another trackday, but with cars around.

In residential areas there are kids around, one of them might run out, I might hit them and damage my bike...then I'd be angry and have to go slap their parents for allowing them to get blood on my paintwork. Our national speed limit is way outdated, having been introduced back in the early 60s when a fast car was a cross-ply shod 1500 Cortina Mk1 that couldn't stop from its top speed of 90 within a week and handled like a drunken pregnant hippo on roller skates. I don't hold with the government's 'Speed Kills' rubbish. Speed doesn't kill, inappropriate speed, bad driving, rappers and a lack of a decent punishment for causing 'death by dangerous driving' does.

Depends on my mood... and that changes alot.
