Default New bike buyers

When you buy a new bike or even secondhand you normally get an owners handbook which specifies oil and types, tyre pressures, chain tensions and loads of useful information for daily maintenance and full maintenance schedules
Simple question, does anybody bother to read them? as we seem to get the same old questions coming up again and again, the majority of which are answered in the handbook.
I find it hard to imagine that somebody would not be able to look up an index and get the answer from the book being the manufacturers specified
levels, pressures and types of lubricants and fluids.
Spend money on training, buying the bike so spend a little time reading the handbook and probably save yourself money in the long run rather than getting secondhand information which may or may not be correct

Only ever got 2 owners handbooks - one of which had suffered from getting stuck under a seat and rained on - so that'd be 1.5/9.....

(though If you've got it - read it....)

I always try to make sure i get the owners handbook/manual with any bike i buy, don't always follow it to the letter but still use it as a guide.

I only read mine when I wanted to look up something specific, but I've kept it safe so that if I ever sell my GSXR I can pass it on to the next owner.

I skim through it before or shortly after the first ride, otherwise you end up frustrated about something that's quite simple and explained int he book

I got my old SV at 6000kms and 4 years old, but it had no manual, a suspiciously shiney exhaust and was too cheap, but it did me proud for another 25k+ miles, so coming on here was the only answer.
