Question Advice on aftermarket cans for sFv

Here's the deal. The sfv end can is not good And I just don't like it, I want to put a 'proper' can on there.

Problem is the options for the SFV are all fairly pricey when all I want is a cheap aftermarket can. (slip on not full system)

I know s...t about this so was wondering what my options could be for getting a cheaper can (one for an SV?) and fitting that. What makes the slip ons model specific, is it simply the link pipe/connectors?

Anyway any help/advice would be great. Otherwise I'll just have to put up with it til I have enough cash to stump up for what's on offer.

Cheers

almost all end cans are roughly the same diameter / length. the link pipe and possibly the hanger bracket if needed make it specific.

"Fuel" and "carbon can company" have a reputation for building decent budget cans in the UK. Consider phoning some companies up along the lines of "Hi, do you have a fitment for the SFV Gladius yet?" if so, you've got options, if not, ask if they'd like to use your bike as their test mule to get the fitment right, in exchange for a free or heavily discounted product.

here's my opinion v twin power pulses wreck cheap cans ! i had twin vipers on my k5 svz1000 and she just blew em too bits ! after speaking to fuel they don't make a budget can for v twins very help full and you never know if they don't make em for your bike you might be able to strike a deal i love my fuel cans sound ace and are road / race i.e removable baffles had them out before even fitted!!! ordered on the Monday hand made in Kendal (and you get a free kendal mint cake yum!) and with me by Wednesday you wouldn't be disappointed.

Cheers! I've looked a Fuel, not heard of Carbon cans so good to know.

I'm thinking I'll probably try and sort something out next time I'm back home (I live in spain) and stuff it in my luggage as it'll give me an extra 30-40 squid to spend on the can rather than postage!

Interesting to hear yr thoughts re the v twin's trashing cheap cans, def something to bear in mind.

Wish they'd just put a NORMAL can on the bike in the first place.

I've not heard of cans being trashed by v-twins before You might want to try Martin at MTC, I'm sure he'd be happy to discuss your requirements and give some advice.

The pulses from a large capacity single, or twin, tend to blow the packing out of cans more quickly than a 4 would. Provided the packing is replaced once it's gone it's not a problem. Generally metal cans are fine, carbon cans which have been run without packing for an extended time do less well.

Plenty of people use budget cans on SVs without any trouble.

This for a gladys?

What I'd do is buy a cheap can from wherever, maybe aa16 road n race, then go to beowulf or zorstec and get them to make you a linkpipe to suit.
