Default Fitted new clutch, problem when hot.

Hi everyone,

i stripped the clutch down, soaked the plates in oil and put it all back together as it was jumping in first gear.

problem solved, slips in and out of gear like a dream now.

but...after taking it out for a test ride, the tension in the clutch lever disappears and makes it very difficult for the gears to be moved.

cold its fine, warm its worse than fudge! clutch basket is tighted up, everything is in the right place, and i had no "spares" leftover after putting it all back together.

Anyone got any ideas befoe i admit defeat and let a garage look at it?

Default Re: Fitted new clutch, problem when hot.

also, to be noted, i have adjusted the push rods as recommended in the haynes manual.

the clutch cable is tensioned correctly, the spring from the clutch slave to the cable is fine, and everything is as it should be as far as i can see.

Like i say, it works when its cold, but once its warmed up, it goes to mush
