Default Anyone have a cylinder compression gauge?

I think I might get to the bottom of my oil burnage. Probably best to start by checking the cylinder compression. Does anyone have a gauge I can borrow? Otherwise it'll be ebay time.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! So yet another issue with the shed? If you'd have asked a couple of weeks ago, but alas I sold it on a carboot along with a lot of other tools!

Only "another issue" if you take an existing issue, clone it, then give it a new name and pretend you have two separate issues. Or in other words, the same oil burning issue we've joked about since day one. I can get one on ebay for about a tenner though, so might as well add that to the kit list!

i may have one kicking around, will search the garage tomorrow.

I'll bring a hole cutter and some MDF so we can make some new piston rings for the shed too

You joke, but did I ever tell you the story of the guy who made a car piston out of wood so he could sell it? Ran for a month before breaking down. Might be a plan for the gixxer.

All you need to do is stick either your thumb or preferably one of your plumbs over the sparkplug hole and crank the engine. A few hours later just compare the colour of the bruise/blood blister to see if any are different and there's your problem.

As you are daft enough to not have a twin then you may have to enlist the help of a friend to do an IL4.

Happy to help.

NOTE TO JAMMY (and other fools) :- DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!!

You mean the issue you almost choked us all to death with a few weeks ago when you revved your bike in front of us?

@ThunderAce, next time tell us lot before you sell tools!
