![]() The choice is enormous – I spent some time going back through previous threads and am now familiar with even more choice although some names keep cropping up more than others. I’ve even listened to some sound files and the sounds of other SVs on the road - This is more difficult than I thought, I’ve noticed in some cases a common theme - wanting to sound like a ducati – even though this cannot happen because of the different types of engine etc. Not being a techy I bow to greater wisdom and accept that if you want to sound like a ducati - go and buy one! If you’re a weekend rider some of those not so legal exhausts may well fit the bill but are not really suitable for my daily commute into London or should I just take a chance! Requirements are therefore something noisier than the standard ‘whisper’ which will wake up those dozy muppets sitting in the commuter traffic and make them move over. Not bothered about performance. £200 budget?. I’ve seen those removable baffles ones (Duel have some on Ebay £160) –these seem like a good idea. Loud for track use (when I eventually do one) and quieter for street use. But how quiet are they with baffle in? Marginally better than standard or pushing to ‘illegal’status. Or it seems that its best to just leave the baffle out and put in just for the MOT. The last thing I want to do is spend up to £200 on an exhaust and find it attracts too much attention from the cops and is only marginally better than the standard exhaust. So Scorpion, Carbon Can, Art (Remus /Pro), Quill, Viper, Wolf, Micron, Fuel, Zorstec or Renegade? I think Akropovic? and Yoshimura? are probably out of the equation. Help! Ta ![]() |

I went for a hindle full system as it was the cheapest way to avoid cutting the pipe. The weight saving is massive! I haven't heard it yet as we are waiting for a special tool to get the old system off, but I've been told it's well loud. As it comes from Canada it doesn't have any "not for road use" markings either. Come MOT time the old exhaust will go back on.

no such thing as a loud and legal exhaust. Id go for a scoprion to be honest if you are in the 'cheap' bracket, then if yo can afford about £240 then a renegade for sure.

Not according to Joe. I believe we are waiting for a 10cm long allen key bit.
