Default Brake light probs

Hi All

Just noticed this morning that my front brake is not lighting my brake light.
Now I had this problem before and ended up putting a new micro switch on.
Is this a common problem then or am I just really unlucky to have the same thing go wrong twice in about three or four months?
When I asked for help from the endless supply of knowledge that is the org last time, a pressure switch banjo bolt was suggested. At the time it was advised against as my knowledge of working on a bike is very limited. Since then I feel a lot more confident and can also enlist the help of a few willing volunteers (when I volunteer them).
Would this be the better road to go down?

Have you tried taking the microswitch assembly off and giving a clean and a squirt of WD-40? Worked a treat for me when i had a similar problem!

Not yet, that's my plan for this afternoon when the workshop is quite.
I was just wondering if there is a better system really.

Scrap the microswitch and fit a pressure sensitve banjo bolt instead, I have never known one of these to fail...

Are these fairly straight forward to fit?
Also would I get one from anywhere or would you recommend somewhere?

You simply need to remove the master cylinder banjo and replace with this one, re-bleed the brake line and solder the wires.

Check the switch- there's a wee tab that the lever pushes against which is quite fragile, it can snap off. If it's just that then you can replace it with a bit of JB Stick or similiar.

Thanks for that mate. Don't suppose you know a part number by any chance?

You just want a fine thread one, single if you have the OEM brake line setup or twin if you have the race line setup. You can get them from Hel, Goodridge, many online bike shops...
