Default Pointy rev-counter face melting.

Hello out there,

As the title says, anyone seen this before? Sorry for the poor picture but hopefully you can make it out. If you look at the rev counter you can see the plastic has started to melt on the clock face and the spindle which holds the needle has started to melt.

Any ideas on the cause, anyone else seen it before? I assume the heat from the bulb is doing it but how do I stop it happening?

Thanks Bunks

IIRC there was an issue with certain makes of aftermarekt double bubble screens causing the suns rays to be focused in one particular point and melting the clocks.

Have you got a double bubble fitted or are you running a standard screen ?

Double bubble screen, a black one. I don't know what make it is though it was already on it. I don't really leave it out in the sun much though, it lives in a garage. To be honest it's got worse reciently and it not been that warm.
I really hadn't thought of that though.
