If you don't have the manual, on my K7 you do the following:
- Make sure ignition is off - Hold down the select button and turn the ignition to on (I think it might also say keep it held down for 3 seconds or something like that) - Press the adjust button to change how the light behaves (flicks between coming on full when you hit the limit, flashing when you hit the limit, and off) - Press the select button to set that and move to the limit itself - Press the adjust button to adjust the limit, it moves up in steps of 500rpm below 10krpm, and steps of 250rpm above 10krpm - Press select to set the limit and exit back to the normal "view" I had fun playing with that when I got the bike ![]() |

This is confusing, is it just me? Has this thread been deleted or moved while I was posting? It's all in a funny order - my last post was the first post - and I can't find the thread in the forum any more, it's only in the preview of the last posted-on thread on that sub-forum that I can see it...

probably to tell you the engine is about to go pop in an wholy unplesant way.
either that or like the ones in cars light up for optimum upshift and therefore acceleration. |

Just to allow you to set a particular RPM at which you wish to change up, I guess it's easier to see a light flashing/come on then a particular RPM.

You can set the RPM at what you like (well on my bike anyway, you'll need to check your manual on how to) when I was running in I set it at the max RPM to be used in that time.
Generally its set at about or just before maximum power so you up change when you see it. It's handy for the track when your not eyeballing the clocks all the time but on the road is of arguable benefit, for me on my bike anyway as I very rarely use maximum power. |
