Argh, thieving ****s - SV650.org

Woke up this morning to find some thieving little ****s stole the cover off my bike overnight. There's no evidence of any damage to the bike or to the chains: I'm guessing they took the cover off to try and steal the bike, only to be deterred by the security so they stole the cover as petty retribution.

Fortunately one of my neighbours has CCTV pointing in the direction of my bike, so I'll be taking that down to the police station later. Doubt they'll do anything, which sucks.

Be interested to know what the CCTV shows & how clearly i.e. for identifying them?
At least it was well chained up. Why do you suspect the Police won't do anything?

after all it was only a £10? cover that was taken.

Buy another cover. Make it a crappy looking one. If people can't see if the bike looks good they often won't bother to check. Sorry about the cover but very glad to read the bike's ok!

Was the cover attached securely - it could have blown off - I lost one that way once

Could have blown away but equaly they could have beeen making prparations to come back and do the full job.
Either way i hope they got hit by a big bus as they left your place and got dragged to a bloody and painful death!!!

Cover definitely didn't blow away because it was too securely tied down. Bike's now well out of London so hopefully it won't get anyone prowling around!

I've taken to chaining my cover onto my bike now, but the chains I use are too long...

...will have to go to a hardware shop and get some shorter chain and some locks.

Of course, they can just cut the cover off I suppose

Anywho, the bike is still there. They might have been hoping it was a GSXR or something; I found ym bike half-uncovered one morning, and felt threatend for ages, but there has been no repeat incident

And they didnt even get to see the Givi rack

No need for a cover when the bike's laid up in the garage awaiting repair!
