Default straight bar conversion

Turning my 09 sv650s into a streetfoghter, just wondering what i need for the straight bar conversion, i want to put a pair of motocross style bars on it, renthal or something, do i need to change the top yoke? Has anyone else done this, thanks.

It would be easier to sell and buy a naked SV no? Saves buggering about with yokes, lights, fairings etc etc.

all depends if todsky bike has been involved in a crash..

Welcome to the site Tod, try doing a search if you haven't already. I think markryker posted pics recently of the bits he just bought. I'll see if I can find a link to it.

it is possible to reinforce them but a top yoke from a naked would be better, the new bars will be easy to fit but you will need new cables for your clutch, brake, throttle and choke all the switch gear cables should be fine to get to a new headlight that you will also need.

original clutch and throttle cables reach fine, ..they just need re-routing....i used a naked top yoke of same year as my s'......renthals bars and new brake lines...sorted stanley
