Excuse my ignorance but I have a pointy SV with a digital speedo, am I right in thinking yours is an analogue, i.e. cable driven clock? If so I reckon the cable or speedo drive may be on the way out as a similar thing happened on my old CX and this was the problem, one min it's fine the next it's dropping to zero then flying up to 100 then OK again. Easy fix though

No probs, reckon something down there is worn, probably the drive.

First port of call will be a loose/ crapped up connection

Mine did something similar before the speedo rotor gave up completly. If you have a search theres been plenty of threads about rotors breaking

They have electronic speedo, although they appear analogue the drive is electronic and a wire rather than a cable. I'd clean up the drive and check connections

Was it just the speedo or did the rev counter do it at the same time?
