Erh... on some things yes perhaps I might do, but I'm not always right.

I spent alot of time on Bridgestone 020's on my SV. After reading others experience of Z6's I tried and set and they really do live up to the hype or what you read on here about them. I havent personally tried the Road Attacks, but again from what I've read on here, thats been posted by people whos opinion I trust leads me to believe that they might work out OK to. However I know a few people that didnt get on with the Road Attacks, I think they are more of a marmite tyre, ( i.e you either love them or dont )

I'm hesistant to recommend a tyre that I dont have any personal experience of, hence why I'm suggesting that you give the Z6's a try. They might be a few quid more expensive than the Road Attack but thats something I'm willing to take a punt on to have a tyre that I trust and that makes me feel confident when I ride my SV, especially as I ride all year round and my SV is my winter bike so I want something that suits my riding and my bike in all types of weather conditions.

To be honest, theres no such thing as a bad modern tyre. So pick the one that suits your needs and your pocket best and go with that, would be my advice. I think though from what I've read you might get a little more milleage out of the Z6's over the Road Attacks.

As for buying online and getting fitted elsewhere. Its a false economy IMHO, I can get Z6's fitted ride in ride out for £165 so I think the thing you have to ask yourself when you've bought the tyres, paid the postage on them and then got them fitted are you really saving that much money, over just paying your local tyre guy to fit them for you ?

The Z6 is, IMHO, a great allround tyre. I have them on my SV1000 and think they are ace - loads of grip in all conditions.

even when ur down to the wire on a 400 mile trip north !

Z6 all the way .. Z4 are rock hard slippery sods.. Z6 are a world apart.wil make u bike feel different again

Fizz has made those many posts cos he works for a VERY small distribution company and can sit on his PC all day in the office whilst his lacky bubbble wraps one box of posidrive 6 inch screws and a spirit level for a bloke in the outer hebridess who cant get to a B and Q !

In Fizz's case - yes, however post count does not always equate to knowledge / intelligence / common sense

I used Avon Viper Sport on my 650 and they were fantastic in all conditions. Check back a few pages in the Pennine Massive section and there is a post about the guys who used to fit tyres for Sharples in Bolton. They have set up on their own in Farnworth and there is a phone No. My vipers were about £170 "ride in ride out".

Other than personal preferences on profile shape/compound, I don't think there is a tyre that is clearly better than the Pilot Power. try them - changing tyres is always a bit of a new experience and takes time to get used to the characteristics. I'm on SportAttacks, had D220, Diablo, SuperCorsa, Sportec M1's, D207RR & Viper Supersports - all work differently but mostly (not D220) as good as each other. Love the Sport Attacks for the road but for track days I'll be changing again probably back to Pirelli/Metzeler
