it has nearly no give to it at all it turns and widdles from one side of the wheel to the other but even that is being restricted by friction by the feel of things.

nah just checked and im safe , made a new spacer a few weeks back and this thread made me think about popping the bearings out....... i thought "oohh feeb i've done the spacer and left no slack to leave a lip on the bearings"........... but i just checked and my mind was running on overtime

There should be no slop in the spacer along the axis of the axle (if there is then I think your bearing may be partway out already). There should be enough space at at least one end to move it slightly off-axis and expose the inner lip of the bearing. If it doesn't go easy then try a little gentle persuasion with a hammer on your drift/lever.

What's the point if you're not going to be able to fit the speedo rotor in anyway?

Well originally i just wanted to get a wheel on because otherwise my bike is without a wheel! but now i have other arrangements i am selling and gonna get a sv wheel even if it kills me!
