For people who use scottoilers, is there a good place on the SV to put one where it isn't going to be obvious?

Some people have fitted them behind the access panel below the riders seat - Curvy owners I believe. Otherwise under the Pillion seat. Just make sure the breather tube is uppermost if the bottle is horizontal.

World-Wide.

Does the exact same job, only better because it loobs both sides of the chain. Depends if you can remember to give it a squeeze every 50 miles, or you want a fit & forget system (scottoiler)
You may as well buy a can of chain lube if you have to do it manually.

I'm surprised you've needed to lube the chain at all in 1300 dry miles

NO! completely different. A squeeze of a bottle attached to your bike every day would take 3 seconds. But get bike stand out of garage & attach to bike, find chain lube in garage and spray on chain while rotating wheel could be 15 minutes

It would only encourage you to get your AutoGlym collection out again, which can't be a bad thing, can it?

It takes a few seconds to lube a chain on the sidestand. You never heard of simply pushing a bike forward instead of putting it on a paddock stand and spinning the wheel? Keep your garage a bit tidier and maybe you'd find the lube sooner.

Who the hell would want a squeezy bottle of oil strapped to an accessible part of their bike anyway? It sounds bloody clumsy and very Heath-Robinson to me. Save money, ask the missus to save the next empty Fairy Liquid bottle and use that with some windscreen washer hose - can't look any more gash.
