That was me
![]() Around town it got very confused between the traffic lights, and would often sulk ![]() On the open road it was much better, but then that's when you don't really need it unless to confirm you're in 6th ( I always have this urge to change up a gear at 120 ![]() I got it originally when I was new to the bike as one day I was turning into my road, dropped from what I thought was 3rd to 2nd, but was actually from 2nd to 1st, and nearly went over the bars ![]() I got round this problem by putting an aftermarket exhaust on - you know what gear you're in with one of those A bit more experience didn't go amis either . . . |

General consenus is a waste of money and at £95 delivered I have to agree, especially seeing as it is not 100% reliable.

My brother has a Acumen DG8 and it works well enough, he has no problem with it, although I've never seen the point, whichever gear your in will tell you which you're going to, simple!
Or of course you could just get a speed triple and use third ![]() Cheers Mark.

There's a gear indicator in my Veypor... Works a charm, at least one the 3 or 4 occasions I've ever bothered to look at it. Doesn't work when you're stationary, as it just stores gear ratios and compares them against engine speed- add clutch to that and it gets confused, and no wonder, it always displays neutral when stopped.
I'm told you can run one off of the injected model's gear sensor- supposedly it's possible to jigger it so that it does more than say when it's in first and second, though i don't know how.

And me! Got the Datatool on my pointy. Works fine for me and helps me avoid doing that Mr Toad thing (see above). I reckon the look good too, (but I replaced my break fluid cap!)
Cheers, Garry ![]() ***EDITED**** Appologies to Mr Kwak Last edited by independentphoto; 02-03-07 at 07:11 PM. Reason: Error |

i know what speed my bike does roughly in each gear at about 4k rpm that way when you think your in top gear just check your revs and speed, no need for this really.
