Fortunatly i was only doing about 5mph at the time.

Still shook me up.

No serious injuries except some lovely bruises and a very sore leg.

Bike = smashed mirror, scratched break lever, general scratches.

To be honest it reli scared me, but its taught me a very good lesson, i reckon is was a judgement mistake, i didnt judge the breaking distance properly because of the rain.
Glad to hear you are ok, bikes can be fixed and with your gag and uncle, they could probably fix it if it go run over by a train, dumped into a canal, taken out, set on fire then fed to alligators........ And it would run better than ever

This does NOT mean that this is what you should do...

Glad to hear you're OK barring the bruises. As other people here have said, the ones you walk away from are the good ones, and sounds like you've learnt a valuable lesson from it. Was this on the scoot or where you trying your luck on the 125?

You might be sore, but at least you didn't break your ankle like I did...That was about 10 weeks ago now, I can almost run again!! Just be careful out there.

One of the things thats good to do is to spend a couple of hours in a gravelly carpark, or in a feild, locking up the front and back wheels - this can help to develop that intuitive sense that you know when the bike is gonna lock up. I spent some time doing this a few years ago, when i started riding on private land, and it helps somewhat.

Not that I'm a riding god, or anything like that, but it helped to develop that feeling and sense

You can (or used to be able to) get skid pan days in cars where the way they replicated the skid was a frame attached to the car, this was on wheels of its own (a bit like shopping trolley wheels IIRC). And when you tried to corner too quickly it put the weight onto these wheels - I think it was powered, not sure how else they'd do it - so you 'skidded'. I wonder if something similar exists for bikes, that'd give you the experience without the pain and repair costs...

There is a contraption for bikes often used to safely test locking up wheels when developing/refining brakes. I'm not sure if it's available to the public to use, but I've seen a vid of a bike with ABS vs (the same model bike) without ABS and they used it. It looked similar to the car skid pan frames, perhaps one of those could be modified for what you're describing, or you could even just intentionally lock the wheels (even in good conditions) with one attached?

I've heard of people doing offroad riding (or even speedway taster days) to get used to the feel of a back wheel letting going without panicking, so that might be another idea.
