I'd get off your high horse if I were you.

The majority of fatal accidents do not occur on straights at high speed. The majority occur on bends, often at or below the speed, when the rider panics, runs wide and wraps themselves around a tree/bonnet.

So in fact, as someone who like to 'have fun in the twisties', you're actually a prime candidate for getting yourself killed. I'd suggest you mind your own business and start worrying about your own riding before moaning about others.

Sounds like you could do with taking a dose of your own medicine FS.

Unless you've actually ridden with LP, I suggest you keep your comments to yourself

Although I do agree that the majority of fatal accidents do not occur on straights (you only have to look at the bike crash sites on Snake Pass to see that, and I'm sure the statistics for bike crashes on the roads of North Wales are not that different).

Have a word with yourself mate, that's out of order.

Bikes **** me off on the roads so I dread to think what they do to normal cage drivers. Coming zooming past with ultra loud exhausts 2 inches away from you - it scares the life out of you!

(i'm hardly one to talk I know...but i know where they're coming from)

In regard to what?

It doesn't matter how good a rider LP is, no-ones immune to target fixation and it doesn't make what he said any less inaccurate either.

Why, because I disagree with someone who with no solid basis thinks people should have their licence taken away?

FS - I'm not on my high horse. I live here in N. Wales and see the results of these speeds. You are absolutely correct that the majority of accidents happen in the twisties and are often caused by running wide. My own observation would be that many of these happen at the bend at the end of a straight, where the rider arrives much faster than they expect / cope with.

And we are not talking about folks doing 90 on 60 either. 110 + quite often, on rural roads with farm entrances and so on. Travelling at those speeds, you need to be stopped by plod and prosecuted. A telling off is just not enough once you get up to those speeds. Unfortunately a tug for doing that speed will result in a ban.

I also know my own vunerability in the corners. I have stuffed up once this year and know I'm lucky just to have been banged up a little. I am trying hard to make sure that does not happen again.

I was saying that extreme speeds are not appropriate on the road and dealing with that by police has my support. Sending out thousands of tickets for 65 on NSL roads where visibility is good does not.

To be honest, stupid ideas about banning bikes aside, I am still shocked at the amount of bike deaths in North wales at the weekends! I mean, do these guys want to die? They should stop riding outside their limits and stop giving the majority of bikers a bad name. Its only lending more ammo to Brainstorm and his colleagues. Everyone here who is angry about getting their liberties taken away should be angry at people who ride like c*cks, spoiling it for the rest of us.
