Arrr it could be a fault with your alarm then especially if it is an immobiliser as well!!! find the alarm and there should be a switch to turn it to sevice mode and then try and start your bike!

OK well I dont think it should do that. I cant remember... ON my GSXR i get a check message on the dash when.

1. The immobiliser has come on and disabled the bikes ignition circuit
2. I've got the bike in gear with the sidestand down

So at a guess it could be the alarm or the sidestand cut out switch perhaps thats causing your problem. I know on my GSXR that the fuel rail wont prime until I've got rid of "Check" off the dash, but I'm not 100% sure if the SV works the same way.

OK well that could be the starter solenoid / relay. I found it clicks when the battery doesnt have enough juice in it and it wont turn the starter motor over. So you might be wise to check your battery or charging circuits if you are competant enough. Have a search for posts by "Sid Squid" about the charging circuits and it'll tell you what you need to do.

Depends on the fitter and the model of the alarm, If its a recent meta it might well be a 357T as thats what is on my GSXR ( I think thats the model no )

I wouldnt start mucking about with the alarm you might end up making things worse, If you dont know what you are looking for IMHO best leave well alone.

Is there not a garage you can speak to to get the bike collected and get an expert to look at it ? Electrical problems can be a b*gger to trace and solve.

Carb heaters really dont do a lot on an SV. It will prbably be more like the choke cab;les/plungers all clogged up. Mines not running well when cold at the moment and investigation is on the cards Friday.

A couple of things that will cause bad starting in weather such as we have now. Firstly, carb balancing and secondly a weak battery. The two together and you'll have no end of trouble.

The Dullsville was suffering from this last week. It would be a complete bitch to start (if it would start at all). As soon as I jumped it from my spare car battery, it fired up straight away. New battery and problem solved.

got any info on sorting this out, even if it is this, but above it says k4s dont have a choke or something

i think its somethingt to do with the carb or fuel pump, when i turn the key i get evrything normal apart from that buzz sound, i get some movement in the rod above the accelorator rod (nor quite sure what it is not very mechanical yet only been on the road 2months) it moves back then back to where it was, if i touch it and try and move it with my hand it jus dont move and makes a kinda buzzin sound like something is jammed and it dont move,

so ive jus woke up put my battery in and wel same thing, but when i take the key out and try to arm the alarm it dosent beep just flashes

is it electrical is it my regulator what the fu*k is it

but again the most noticible thing is that its not making the buzzing noise, could i hav got water in the tank

pleae help i dont want to fork out £100 jus for labour or whateva plus parts etc etc
