I know a guy who has a hidden lever, opening the door before pulling the lever results in a 12 bore shell full of rock salt at chest height. It's caught someone before too

Bummer
![]() Apart from making sure things are 'out of sight' I can't see added shed security is going to help. As someone else said, if it looks like fort-Knox then it makes it more appetizing!! Might be worth getting a chain&ground anchor affair inside though ... To be honest, my view these days is you are prolly better off spending money on CCTV than anything else ... at least you have a fighting chance of catching/prosecuting the scum if you have CCTV footage of them!! ![]() Last edited by Blue_SV650S; 20-06-08 at 04:42 PM. |

![]() As for shed security Viney, it's all been said before in the thread. My personal preference though is a pretty simple alarm, hooked up to a blue flashing light (inside the shed). Once they're in, they know they've tripped the alarm. Unfortunately it's another case of not being able to stop them if they really want in. Also, be mindful that now they've been in once, don't be supprised to see them again. |

Put the bolt though,
and DOUBLE up the nut's on the inside, the second will lock the first, and for added security as stated massive blob of glue over both... My garage got broken into a couple of winters back... The homemade door/lock combo confused the sh** outa the thief(s)! Then the strategicly placed light switch made sure they didnt find it, followed by the last line of defence... loads and loads and loads and a little more rubbish, boxes, random bits of wood, metal and any other random junk mixed in with all the valuables... When they did finally get in, it appears that they couldnt see the ?? items from the junk, looked at one small box ( where there are plenty of power tools dotted around, next to, above etc) and appear to have left empty handed...

My SV stuff is in the loft now, it's a pain to get out but after the local kids set my shed on fire I have no option.
I have a 12 gauge blank alarm, mesh and an old van security tool box (bolts to floor) for the next shed I get. Hope you get the insurance sorted viney. |
