Sounds like a nightmare over there, the police here in Northern Ireland are a bit more sensible on these things like plates and exhausts so unless you really take the **** they leave you alone. That said if your acting the clart they will throw the book at you!

anyway as far as i'm aware being an anally retentive bunch the paperwork submitted by police has to be 100% perfect of its completely void. Its one of the first things a good lawyer looks for when they are trying to get someone off the hook!

best advice is to call a local lawyer / solicitor and see if they can give you a steer on it but i think your luck could be in.. .

Sally and I were told exactly this on Sunday. The copper said that just because it got through an MOT it doesn't mean that it's legal.

mates & matesses - its by the by cos he didnt make an issue of it & he didnt make me produce either. altho theyd no doubt checked all that on the computer what with all the reg reading equipment etc....

sorry about offending note, but i couldnt beleive the guys attitude...it was like theyd been told they were to stop as many as poss nr Carnival and braethalyse & CRo everyone ...i did not look out of it , at all....

There wasnt one we were stopping large gangs from travelling to the carnival in order to rob, steal and or fight.

Pay the fine and take it on the chin.

Do you really think your missus "making waves" will help matters? I doubt it very much.

Its only £30 and to be fair if you had a legal plate you would not have been ticketed.

you mean at the Oval ...bloomin good job too...imagine if those bleedin Peel Dem crew had met up with brixton up there - would have been a lot worse ....
