I agree with the hood jeans idea, but would also add that maybe some wet weather gear that is more suited to her age group. I'm sure you will find something on the tinternet.

I was riding some pretty high powered stuff from 14 onwards, I was a f###ing liability. No reason to stop people from riding though, when I got on a road bike I calmed down a lot.

Thinks it wont look good or she'll look out of place as others probably wont be fully kitted up

i can really understand, as i did stupid things on my vespa ( shorts and tshirt ) along some dangerous roads, as i would look good and thats all that mattered at the time.
so shes willing to wear gear which shows shes a very smart girl.

tryed cammo, or other odd designes for trouers or you can wate till the girls bike shop and see her reaction to what they say to her and what she sees other people wearing.

The Draggin Jeans are better then jeans, as I've had some, but they only us patches of Aramid. Where as the hood jeans its more like shorts of Aramid, makes it warmer but not as bad a leathers. Also the jeans themselves are double stitched and the pockets are all 'denim' so no cotton pocket that will split after 5 minutes.

i agree with vic. Just tell her its proper textiles or dragon and water proofs. If she refuses drag her along the road and see if she thinks gravel rash is cool or trendy.

They are sexy I have one !!

I have read back and you say she has seen Big Apes thread, if that don't do it nothing will. All you can do is make sure you get her the correct kit and try and drum it into her. If you buy it her and put it away so she knows where it is she may plesasantly surprise you and use it, if she thinks its her choice she may well wear it.

At the end of the day she is now her own person and when she is cold and wet she may well then decide "my parents where right".

At that age don't kids tend to do the opposite of what they are told?
