My bike when you first start it seems to run at about 3000-3500 revs.
Then after about a minute or two drops to 1500. If you try to put it into gear before the revs drops it makes an awful noise and won't really let you kick it into first unless you ignore the noise and put a lot of force on the selector. Once the revs drop it slips into first very easy. ![]() Is this anything to worry about or is it just one of those things? Thanks Lily |

Its the fast idle for a cold engine, its completely normal and nothing to worry about.
Unless its a bonkers cold day, just start it and let it warm whilst you put your gloves and lid on, once you've done that it should be off the cold start and idling lower by that point. Let the revs drop away and dont force it into gear.

Start bike , go back in house , put helmet on and close front door behind you , put gloves on , wheel bike into street , revs should be around 1500 by now and ride away
![]() We have auto choke on the Pointy and it will adjust itself to correct revs once it`s warmed up enough . |

It can be around 2500 , you know when it`s correct as it will be just a shade under 1500 when warm and running nicely . I had to adjust my Idle Screw when I first put the Scorpion Street Extreme on , the bike was just about idleing and sounded like a Harley on tickover ..... Blump - Blump - Blump a Lump
