why? didnt you naked your cbr? not a fan of the result?

For the sake of a few kilos its not worth it IMO. the reason I was naked-ing my CBR was for the handlebar conversion mainly. If I could've (knowing what was gonna happen), I woulda just saved for an LSL Yoke conversion and kept her as she was. I sold bits to save money, how i wish I hadn't sold things!

My next idea is rather better than killing one of my bikes, which in all reality I did to the CBR. Buy the various components required for a bike and build her from scratch, will learn me a lot more about how things go together and work. That or buy a bike in a crashed state and resurrect it over the next few months. Or just throw them ideas out and get the bike I've been looking at!

When you buy parts, try and get as many nuts, bolts, cables, spacers etc thrown in as possible ... it's the little stuff that gets you! Did it a few years ago with a CR and only way I managed to finish it was buying a very crashed one as a donor.

I dont know where you get that from... A modern (07) Gixxer 600 weighs in at 179KG dry.

Dont believe the cack about just over 161 KG that they recon the new Gixxer weighs in at, Thats with no tyres no oils no battery no Coolant no anything moist. Which is a crock of crap, what use is that weight to anyone except the advertisers?

A 2008 GSXR600 fully wet weighs in at 192KG's. 17L of fuel weighs about 13KG... So 192 - 13 = 179KG Dry... I.E. No fuel.

Yes a gixxer weighs more than a SV650... just its placed better so a Gixxer feels like it weighs less. Its a kinda magic

Thats what I want to do, get a dropped/low sided bike and make it into a cafe fighter after doing a nut and bolt rebuild to learn about bikes.

wow, I didnt know dry was to that extent. I thought it just ment no fluids, didnt think tyres would be included in that!!
