And one vote for Canon, can't remember the exact model but I've seen a very decent one not long ago. If it follows the traditional Canon inkjet tradition, it should be 'cheap' to run, great print quality without sacrificing speed. I'll see if I can come up with the model...

If you go for a HP, Cannon or a Epson, then I'd recommend one of these continous ink systems.

I've been running one in my Epson R265 for over a year now and never had to refill the ink. Intial cost is about 2 sets of original ink cartridges, but with at least 5x the amount of ink.

With children in the house normal cartridges were too expensive to run & I had no end of problems with compatibles.

Maviczap, if anyone else wants to try the product suggested above, why not get together for the cashback offer

I would if I could, but I don't have my original order number to complete the sign up process, Doh!

Because I bought mine on EBAY, I didn't see this offer

Maybe I'll ask them if they still have it

But dosn't stop anyon else signing up for it.

Which did you go for in the end? Any feedback? I need to recommend a wireless printer to a customer and don't know where to start!

I personally wouldn't touch any Epson printer with a bargepole. I've owned two - one was a top-of-the-range model, and they've both been complete rubbish. I ended up dumping the very expensive one at the council tip and replacing it with a cheap Canon which turned out to be a far better printer all round. I'll never buy Epson again.

Funnily enough, I always use Epson semi-gloss photo paper in my Canon printer, as it produces much nicer photos than all of the high-gloss papers do.
