on my pointy the tom tom (original Rider) is mounted on my front brake lever bracket.
I had to twist the brake clockwise a little to prevent te sat nav bracket hitting the fuel tank when I did a right turn. Give us a bit, i am on a training course but once i get home I will take a picture of it for you and post it up here. Cheers Rich |

I ride an 08 SV650 Sport. I found a great mount that replaces the front half of the clamp that holds your break lever on the handlebars. This mount looks the same as the stock clamp except it has the ball used for almost all GPS mounting systems on the top. I like it because it does not use a shiny chrome u-bracket, looks professional and stock, and is barely noticeable if the GPS is off the bike. I purchased it at RAM mounts. The part number is RAM-B-309-1. I purchased a kit to mount the Garmin Nuvi 500 but that part is the backbone to mount any GPS. Tomorrow I'll send pics.

I mount my Garmin 275t on the rev counter using the supplied mount. I have attached a power socket to the bike on the handlebar too. I have tested this out for hours at all sorts of speeds and works fine. Sat nav mount has never come loose but as a safeguard i got an additional 12v power lead that has a right angle mini usb connector. When this is plugged into back of satnav i put a few pieces of black electrical tape on the back. If the satnav did come loose it would not fall far at all.

The most secure and unobtrusive way is to use a Telferizer RAM mount on the top yoke nut. Google them.

I stick my tom tom 510 on the rev counter, fits perfect.
Use the normal window suction mount. Not so funnily enough, Damn thing packed up on me yesterday while in my car. Came up 'error while planning' or something, so turned it off and its never came back on. Batteries charged, but will not come on. Have to send it back as its under warranty still. ![]() Phil |

We'll be fitting a bracket onto Hilary's bike, once the bar conversion has been done. |
