Well the good news is that in the world of orthopaedics, I am considered a young woman - woooo!

The bad news? I need surgery - which was expected, but because Axa insurance did not bother to assist me in getting the right treatment straight away in Thailand I will now need a bone graft too. Apparently if their medical assistance team had even bothered to look at my original x-ray instead of constantly fobbing me off they would have seen that this required pinning immediately to ensure no long term damage.

So I go into hospital next Wednesday for 2 nights, and should be home, but not out in Soho, next Friday. 3 weeks in plaster, a few more weeks of gentle physio and back on the bike in about 8 weeks so the AR is definitely on for me, but the Shakedown will have to be done by car.

So if anyone can loan me a few decent DVDs for my hospital stay I would be grateful if you can bring them to Soho tomorrow.

The sort of DVDs i own would ensure you get chucked out the hospital right away so i'm keeping them firmly in my secret drawer.

But great news that this can happen so soon for you Pea, just a damned shame about Axa sitting on their fat butts instead of doing what you pay them money for. I hear that "where theres blame, theres a claim"

Jeeeezuz i need to get a job and stop watching daytime tv ads.

Oh for God's sake, Pruhealth don't allow surgery at the hospital next door to work, so now I have to see if the specialist can operate at a different London hospital that they will cover. I despair!

Yeh the Wellington is not on many insurance companies lists sadly, its very much a "celebs" hangout.

Actually the Welly is on their list - it's the St Elizabeth and St John where my surgeon works. But he also has a clinic at the London Bridge hospital so I'm hoping they might do it there and I'll be covered.

And worst of all, I was asked to represent Lord's at a sports industry go-karting event next week and I have had to decline. My colleagues are most unhappy as they were banking on me salvaging some pride.

Well after much faffing I now need you all to keep your fingers crossed for me. The surgeon has gone all out to help me, even calling me at home last night with an update. I should send Verna round to give him one of her special hugs!

I'm on standby for surgery at London Bridge hospital on Thursday morning. If his earlier quite complicated op goes very well he will have time to do mine afterwards.

If there are complications on his other patient I am back home again without surgery.

Paris Fashion Week - pah! What all the in crowd are wearing this season is an oversized blue hospital gown, support stockings, id tags and a big arrow in marker pen on the arm. It's a stylish look. So I'm waiting for surgery at London Bridge Hospital. Nil by mouth. I'm gagging for a coffee.
