thats totally irrelevant, knowing about rape and the 'birds and the bees' etc etc is not the issue. I would consider a phrase like this inappropriate in the workplace, never mind the school.

its 2011, not 1911. I work on a daily basis with people who would find a phrase like this offensive.

Teachers are meant to teach and if they can't pass on their knowledge then there's no point them being there. This guy was in engineering 30 years so he's a useful teacher not just some c*nt with a teaching degree a limp wrist and no idea about the real world.

When I was at school there were a few who would talk reasonably freely with you about anything, not go mental when they saw you down the pub or smoking or something. Quite unlike the fresh from uni types, who were useless.

Warnings and slaps on the wrist for stuff like this seem like a lot of BS to me. He told them an edited rhyme from the 60's... a useful history lesson of race relations and attitudes no?

"Black Boys Rape Our Young Girls, But Virgins Go Without" - seriously that's the best example of PC gone mad? You really think that one is worth defending? Pick your fights, that one's a lost cause.

I'm the last 'PC person' [1] alive on this planet but for a teacher, the bloke must have brains the size of peanut. What a fe_cking monkey...perhaps a closet c*** ?

Im suprised to see how many of you don't see the problem, and ppl wonder why society is going the way it is!

i dont think the out come wouldn't be quite so "light" if it was 11 year olds do you ? and he never actually told them the exact phrase and they filled in the blanks

Agree with this, You're bound to learn from someone who's real and knows stuff, it's respectable. However when you're asked to copy text from a text book to an exercise book - a pupil clearly recognises it's more constructive to dangle the ginger kids out the window.

Let's draw a parallel. I heard the song "tie me kangaroo down sport" when I was at school once. I DEMAND a full OFSTED inspection* as it turns out that song used to have a verse in it about abos!!!1!!!

"He said Jehova!"

*Only joking, they're shutting it down anyway...

probably not no, but then we are discussing varying degrees of inapropriate, it doesnt make it more suitable simply because the kids are older.
