Just taken my dads BMW out of its hibernation, R1100r

Gel batterys had it, so thought i'd be nice and take it out and order him a new one so he can come out with me at the weekend wtf were the germans thinking when they designed this bike!? both side covers needed removing, air box cover, inlet pipe cover on the left and a dirty great screw through the frame holding the tank in place. As***les!

Talk about weight saving though, its 7kg lighter......without a battery

You mean 1 of them lifebatt thingys? I dont think weight saving is really an issue with this bike, the whole things 1 big heifer!

Aye those are the things, put you'd need one the size of a sv battery to replace that monster.
