I bought the SV whilst I was still half cut and without riding one. Gixer I had a go on my mates, but not the one I actually bought.

Bought the Sv without a test ride, and haven't regretted it, apart from the ride home after buying it.
Bought a BMW once without a test ride, man what a mistake that was. But in general I've never test ridden any of my bikes with the exception of one and never regretted any apart from the BMW

I bought my SV via an eBay auction without even seeing it (other end of the country), but the seller had excellent feedback and described the bike as immaculate. He lived up to his word, the bike looked as though it had just rolled out of a Suzuki showroom when he delivered it to me and had full service history etc.
My GPZ500 also came from eBay, unseen and untried and was a significantly better than I expected given the rather amount of money I paid, so very happy with that. I bought the RSV after looking at it and hearing it run, but no test ride. Again, the bike had clearly been looked after very well and could easily have passed for a bike 1/4 of its age and mileage. |

Bought my curvy off ebay on a whim in the last minute after being outbid on the one I was after. Was lucky and loved that bike. Sv1000 again bought without a rest ride, but was local so actually got to see it beforehand. The Gixer was different. I git it from a woman at work who lent it to me for a couple of days as she was convinced I'd hate it. How wrong she was!! She cried when I picked it up! Don't work same shifts but I often go back to my bike and find lipstick marks on the tank!

I did sit on an sv which helped me decide on it, instead of the fazer I was first thinking about.
Bought my sv from a dealer about 50 miles from home, and on the way down the road for the first mile I was thinking what the hell have I done, but didnt take long for me to like it, and still do over 2 years on. Its the only bike I never tested before buying, with privately owned I had to hand over the cash first which is fair enough. Always been family types and at theyre house as well, not by the side of the road. |

My SV is my first bike, never test rode it however I did A LOT of research and sat on a few different ones. Took a clan of people to look at a prospective SV and spent a lot of time checking everything out on it. Bought it.
When it came to riding it for the first time I absolutely loved it, and still do. I do however think that I'll be test riding my next bike as I'd hate to buy it and then end up missing my SV instantly... |

Bought my CB500 without a testride, I was sure I wanted it over an ER5 though, and turned out I was right. Everything since has had a ride first. I bet that plonker at JT's in Bridgend is kicking himself for saying 'I'm not in the business of giving test rides' because I went and bought the Fazer from his mate in Swansea instead.

Test rides for everything I've had, although as an impulsive type I've bought the first one I rode with the exception of the KTM (second after the tiger 800)

Got a raptor waiting for me at home when I return to the UK. Bought it off ebay, wasn't in the country to view it. Was a bargain so I could always sell it on if it's a lemon but my mechanic uncle has given it the thumbs up. Looking foward to arriving home in 3 weeks. Will no doubt be raving or moaning on here about it shortly :P
