Out of interest Tim, what do they want to interview him about? He has the crime number aleady?
It's hardly relevent, or are there suspicious circumstances surrounding the "theft"?

I think from the chat I had with him last night, it was really just to establish details, Full description of bike, exact location of theft etc.

Nothing suspicious. He rode with a friend, stopped of at his house, had brew and no bike when he came out. Cat 3 alarm fitted, so guess is a couple of scaffold tubes through the wheels and into the back of a van.

I suppose that when asked to describe it he simply said "A Repsol" to us this is a very meaningful colour scheme, to your local reporting system operator translate to a orange/red/white/black with the decals saying Repsol, HRC, Michelin, Showa etc.

Distinctive to us, but sounds like a colour nightmare to a non biker

It annoys me that police just don't seem interested in stolen goods these days. I think they just rely on you sorting it out with your insurance. On one hand I think that it probably wasn't necessary for them to come out and interview and on the other hand if they had wanted to I would have gone mad if they'd left it for three days. Probably already sold off in bits by then!

Does a cat 3 alarm not have a motion sensor then?

Cheers,
Matt

Yes it does have a motion sensor, Hence the lift with 2 lengths of scaffold, keeping the bike upright. Shove in the back of a van lined with loads of insulation and nobody is any the wiser, gang of 4 can do it in about 10 seconds, no messing trying to break locks etc. at the side of the road. up up and away. In fact a gang from liverpool were nicked a few weeks ago about a mile away from where this happened doing exactly this. Probably all on bail and still doing it

It''s not black - it's really dark blue, same as on my bike!

thieving scumbags! ok so you say they could've wrapped it in a lot blankets or something, but surely in standing the bike up (to pick it up and carry it away) off it's sidestand that sets off the alarm? it does with mine!

Can't comment too much on the alarm as I don't know how sensitive it was. I do know there was one fitted as I had to find out why the bloody thing was playing up some time ago. (Badly fitted mini indicators that were shorted)
