Go to Calgary, they have lots of it (oil), and the tax is cheap too! I'm hoping to get there in Summer and take a good look at it as an option!

Cheap cars, central vacs, big parks, cheap supermarkets (cost of apples up 18% in 2 weeks here, grrr!), friendly people, no road tax or TV licence... Sure I'd find a negativce once I got there, but hell, wouldn't mind finding out!

Oh, and those roads - hours without seeing a soul, and few speed cameras!

Late 30's "spark" mate moved out for 6months. Family out there. Big Canuck culture/music fan. Happy enough. Promised plenty of work. Came back . Sold house. Moved out with wife and young kid. Could not get kid into school. Him? Horrendous racism, thievery, ended up nobody wanted to give him a job. Back home a year or summit later with **** all.

One of the best people I know.

My old boy is from Toronto and is thoroughly embarrassed.

I think high tax, high rent, high oil prices are going to be inevitable internationally. The Welsh countryside will have to do instead Anyone been to Malvern? wouldn't mind living there
