If you're talking about Mayhem in Aldershot, then it's in north lane just by the Renault dealer. It's a small shop next to a sandwich shop by the traffic lights usually with older, cheaper bikes in it. Seem to do a lot of salvage bikes so make sure you know what you are buying. Just down the road in Normandy is another place whose name I forget that also do older cheaper stuff. If you're looking for a winter hack both are good alternatives to risking ebay.
And as for riding this time of year, I am now riding around on a big furry white ball of salt fluff. Never got around to applying the ACF-50 this year. I feel a weekend with the muck-off a stiff brush and plent of elbow grease is called for. Riding in bad conditions does a lot for your basic bike control. Then when it all gets clean and dry again you'll find you ride a lot smoother. Of course this assumes you didn't bin your bike in the wet, slippy stuff beforehand.

well there has to be some sort of pay off for all this cr*p weather. I spend 75% of my riding at the moment feeling frustrated and not enjoying it as much as I'd like. Much of it is in the dark which doesnt help, but for the 25% when i do feel totally relaxed and able to really open the throttle its great. Having lots of fun getting the back end to spin up exiting roundabouts on friday evening on the way to cambridge. rain had stopped but surface was still wet - it does help that my ZZR is a barge so its not too flighty.
I've never tried the ACF-50 stuff. i just use WD40 on all the metalic parts, not bothered about fasteners etc as the bike is 13 years old. just clean the callipers with an alloy wheel brush and pleanty of cold water when i get the chance - still looking quite respectazble really. |

It was the look of the R1 that attracted me to it, not the performance! I know thats terrible. ![]() It just looked so tasty in white/red/black with the red seat. |
