Clymer never mentioned threadlock or copper grease for the DRZ mounting bolts...

It depends on the design of the bolt. If the head of the bolt was smooth on top or slightly domed then I would use thread lock. If the head of the bolt was hollowed out then I would not as the shoulder of the head of the bolt is designed to distort and grip the surface of the metal below tighter than a standard bolt.

Copper slip, pretty much everywhere, and do them up either tight, or in critical areas 10% less than given settings.
Never had anything vibrate loose yet, and when I come to loosen things they seem to go "ping" then wind out smooth.
