I think it's made of nylon. Ours went on our first curvy quite early on. I remember Gary of JHS commenting on the amount of slop on it's first 15k service. As far as I'm aware it's still like that another 35k+ on.
 I'd leave it. Didn't seem to make any discernible difference. Pete

It works better now than it did before, so either buy a new lever or live with it. The shell that fell out was too small and flimsy to go back in, and it's probably in the bin by now.
