And my K5, i think the K3 +4 were different and the curvy's different again. But even running in i only just managed to get 150 miles out of a tank once, normally around 120 miles on my commute.

did you have a hole in your tank or something? I struggled to get my mpg below 50! and even then was on track for 180 miles, I must be such a sedate rider heh. Best ever was 216 before re-fuelling but I was being REALLY careful that week (read: boring)

fuel light would always start flashing at about 125-130 miles, and full on at about 135 miles... but i'd easily do 160-170 miles before I'd fill up; but have done 190 before when feeling a bit desperate about getting to a petrol station.

Can't say I'm too happy - 40 miles less is a big chunk of extra fuel wasted; and I'm riding exactly the same as I did previously.

Starting to flash about 125-30 sounds about right to me. That's where it happens on mine anyways. Take it back and demand they sort it out

216!
Did you forget to reset your trip meter

I manage around 140-150 before the fuel light starts flashing then I give it another 20miles before finding a station. (99 curvy)

DC

I recently had the same symptoms as you. I would definately check that all the pipes under the tank are properly secured. One of the pipes was not put back onto my bike properly after a service, which confused the ECU to injecting loads of fuel, thus getting only 40 mpg. I think it was a very thin pipe on the thermo?? on the right hand side (when sitting on the bike). Sorry, but I didn't take much notice when the mechanic showed me which one.

I get the average 55mpg now.

That will have fooled the ECU into thinking motor was cold, so it'd dump loads of fuel in. Like leaving the choke on, on a carbed bike.
