What puncture repair kit do you use? Think I may well invest in one!
Sticky string. It's the best of all the ones I have used. I have never had one fail yet.

in fear of talking it up......and costing me a fat wad of cash,,,i have a feeling that i currently have a slow puncture in my front tyre.
I knew when i bought the bike that i needed to replace the squared off rear tyre, however im not too chuffed at the thought of having to do the front anytime soon too. grr.

Punctures in tyres do not automatically mean a new tyre is required.

The majority of punctures can be repaired.

There are the temporary repair kits out there which will get you back on the road. You can then ride to a garage and get the tyre fixed properly from the inside. It's cheap. The last time I got a temp repair fixed properly it cost me a tenner. That included removal and fitting of the wheel.

Don't automatically assume a puncture means a new tyre.

1 luckily.

Just sods law it happened 2 days after a 20,000 mile service, a new front tyre, and my shower breaking so having to buy a new one.

Needless ot say this month im skint. So much for getting that sh1tty xmas shopping out the way early.

Previously i've had about 2-3 a year. All nails!!!!

Little trick....
Fill up with air, slightly over inflate
Get on bike
Ride as fast as you can.

Sounds mad, but the faster speeds keep the pressure in the tyre better. I've done 24 miles wit a puncture, although i had one fill up stop as it went down in the city. Got on the motorway, it got me home. The last mile after the motorway though wasn't fun

Also, if the tyres near the end of its life, tyre weld can be handy.

Otherwise, i pump it up and get to a garage to repair it.

had my previous punctures plugged but have bought a bottle of ultraseal which you stick in the tyre to fix punctures when they happen. Dont suppose anyone has any first hand experience of the stuff? My bottle along with other potions and lotions are still on the garage shelf awaiting some free time to use.

no punctures in 10k despite pulling out an 1.1/4 nail that had went in the rear but didn't pierce the carcass.

Big ape what is this sticky string you speak of, I've tried google but no luck.

I think I had 2. One of them was the day after getting a new tyre and it was border line whether it could be plugged or not.

I was considering changing to Avon tyres, if you get a puncture and there is still x amount of trewad left they will replace it with a brand new tyre (either for free or the tyre place may charge a nominal fee, that's still better than buying a new tyre)

But Avons wear out to quickly : (
