I've never had a problem with bolts on the SV.....apart from those hamfisted types that tighten them so much, that I can't undo them again Like the airbox screws that I had to dremel a slot into, so I could get them out. They blamed my girlie hands not beiing strong enough.....I blame those that over tighten things

sv bolts suck! especially the carb bolts! they are useless! ive got a set of carbs from a 88 gsxr 1100 and all the screws come out perfectly! not a problem!
its just one of the ways suzuki limit the cost of the bike. Stainless screws? no no no far to expencive! only way to avoid it is to replace the majority of them. but good tools to help. Although the old saying "a good worksman never blames his tools" does come into account sometimes.

Anywhere really, they're mostly metric coarse stock sizes but there are some fine pitch ones. Try local engineers suppliers.

Yeah but necessary for disc bolts and the like and other critical areas.

Did you ever stop to consider that the carbs on both a GSXR1100 and an SV curvy were both made by Mikuni, and not Suzuki. That's the same Mikuni who made carbs for Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda and even Triumph amongst others. Do you really think Mikuni make good carbs for everything else and save all the crap screws for SVs?
