Quick update, i rang my local suzuki dealer earlier and they reckon you cant get the lowered seat for the K3 its only K4 onwards

The bloke i spoke to says there is a local shop which does the reprofiling for about 40 quid so i asked how much they could do me a standard seat for? his answer 119 quid theres more chance of me gettin me knee down than paying that for a piece of foam.

This is the seat fitted to mine so could someone just try and clarify what it is for me? will it still be standard hieght or would i be better off with a standard seat unit for the time being?

cheers again guys

That already looks slightly lower than the standard seat, but its hard to tell. I've got a standard seat spare if you want to borrow it for a comparison. Or even buy it

Cheers Ophic its a funny thing as before i bought my leathers i had no bother with the seat hieght but now when i have the leathers on the seat seems too wide and i have to lean the bike quite far over to get me foot on the floor properly ( i dropped it the other week in a mishap because of this ) Im getting sick of having tiny legs now like!

That looks like the OEM gel seat.

It is an OEM gel seat. They're much better than the nappy one that they gave the curvy!

The K3 was the odd one out, I think theres a few things that are K3 only. Darned wierdo bike!

If you find it a little wide, don't try a Corbin on it.....they're like buckets!

The K3 was the first pointy, I guess they found some issues with it that were sorted out on the K4. I think the rear subframe is different.

I'd imagine they did a gel seat for the K3 for a couple of years and they've now run out of back-stock. Makes it a bit of a nightmare to get hold of a spare one as well.

Just had miss ophic's seat sculpted today (lowered) by the above Mr Archer and I just have to re-iterate, he's a top bloke! He's done a fantastic job for a really good price and he's just opposite the Odeon in Hudds, off went we to watch a film, by the time we came out it was all done. Came home, stuck it back on the bike and its perfect, quite a bit lower than before. Can't recommend him enough

His next door neighbour is a nice fella too - not sure what he does, but he has a passion for sidecars, has at least 2 around his workshop, let miss ophic sit in one. We had a good natter and miss ophic might be going back for a ride!

that my friend is a gel seat, not a standard seat.

also if you want to "lower" your SV, you want longer Dogbones.

Cheers Richie, i went out on the bike today with all the clobber on and i must say it did'nt seem to be as much of a struggle.

Its a bit embarrasing but i zipped my sidi boots up with the leathers a little further up my ankle and it seemed to give me a little more reach for start/stopping etc

Maybe i just need someone to help me get dressed before i leave the house
