Default Re: Consumer Rights - Quick Question

Sale of goods act. You have a contract with the retailler, not the manufacturer. If the goods become faulty within the first year (or a reasonable length of time depending on item) then you are entitled to a repair or replacement. Ithink this is within 14 days but not 100%
So if foe example the shop said we need to send them for puma for repair, it wil be 6 weeks turnaround then they need to provide you with an alternative in the interim.
If Puma come back and say not our problem, that is between them and the shop. your contract is with the shop.
iirc.

J&S took them back and I have been without my boots for 3 weeks, fortunately I had a temporary alternative. Called J&S this morning just as a chase up really and they said I could have a full refund or a different pair of boots as Puma no longer make my ones.

I asked if the zip could simply be replaced but Puma don't do that!

Still full refund after having the boots just shy of a year and they are my 3rd pair under warranty too.

Anyway I braved the embarressment and went to pick a new pair, decided goretex was the only way to go as my previous 2 pairs went back for being leaky.

Ended up witha pair of Sidi Vertigo Mega Gore-Tex, supposed to be £229.99, but J&S are having a 20% off weekend so got them for the pincely sum of £34.00 (the extra I had to add to the Puma's). Again with a full years warranty!!!

Well happy with that I just really hope they last this time.

Another question though does anyone need a pair of replacement puma toe sliders? FOC
