I'm pretty sure it won't bolt to the outside, because of the shape of the can. Maybe I'll have a go at twisting it about a bit tomorrow (and bending the bracket), to see what I can do.

I put the bracket there as that seemed the only place it would go. I think the original bolted to the back of the hanger? Just had a look at some other pictures of people's exhausts (two beowulfs) and the only ones that have a close up view seem to be bolted to the back aswell .

has the bike been ever dropped on the right side, possably bending the hanger.

make sure that when/if you trim the headers, that you dont go to short or you will have leaking exhaust gasses.

Not been dropped as far as I'm aware. I've just had it apart and been twisting the pipes around. I've changed its position slighly now. It's slightly lower down but also wider out....so I'll see if that makes a difference.

I looked at where I trimmed the pipe (50mm from weld), and decided it wouldn't make any difference to trim more off (it could only be another 5mm max anyway).

Thanks for all the help anyway. It's a shame there aren't many other people with Delkevic's. I'd be more confident that I was doing something wrong if there were other people who had them fitted to their curvies .

Even 1mm will make a diffrence, a fe mm less at the bottom will angle it out by a 1cm or so.

if the whole can is too close then its usualy to do with the hanger or the strap not being bent correctly

Went for a ride this afternoon, and the exhaust has been rubbing against the card even more.....so my repositioning hasn't worked .

When I had the exhaust all apart I really couldn't see what cutting another 1-5mm more off the original exhaust would do? I get the theory that it should angle it out more....but from looking at it, it didn't look like the angle of the link pipe would change at all......just move the whole exhaust forward a bit? Maybe I'll take a couple of pictures this week to explain what I mean.

I've sent the ebay shop an email now so I'll see what they say about it. I've got a feeling they're not going to respond, then when I call them fob me off. Hopefully not, I'll wait and see.

The exhaust has been cut too far forward.
The pipe comes out an angle under the footrest, the further forward it's cut the further to the left it is - closer to the centre of the bike, and of course the swingarm.

I think I understand what your saying. You mean if I'd cut further away from the weld, say 60 or 70mm instead of 50 the exhaust would stick out further.

That did cross my mind, the exhaust didn't come with any instructions so I made the cut at 50mm. From reading on svrider, it appears that people who phone up Delkevic for fitting advice get told to make the cut at 50mm.

Unfortunately there's not much I can do now. I'll keep fiddling with it to see if I can improve it. I'll wait to see what the ebay shop says.

I've seen the price of stock exhausts on ebay and don't fancy paying for another one!
