I don't know if you would get done for 'failure to display' as it's not actually your car, you're just driving it. I think that it would be the owner (i.e. the leasing company) that would be fined.

**** the 'failure to display' rule, you've paid for it, use it.

And if some total job worth **** insists on fining you instead of being a decent human being, tell him exactly what you think of him/her.

Well it won't be any thugs, burglars, drug dealers etc. They only get community service. Tax avoiders/evaders get life

Tim, If you get pulled, you'll probably just have a chat and be sent on your way, being told to chase up the company to get the disk. If they do issue a fine, it should be to the vehicle owner, but as you're the driver, they may issue it to you.......take it to your HR dept and make them pay it....also chase it up a week later so you know it's been done.

Happened to me when my tax disk got stolen......as luck would have it, I got pulled just after I noticed and on my way home.....lol. No fine, just a giggle with the officer and report of the theft made.

Trust me, failing to display is down to the driver/rider, not the owner. Keeping and using if it's a company vehicle can be down to the owner, but they only apply if the vehicle isn't taxed.

The law is "failure to display"

fortunatly police dont do walking checks anymore. The DVLA do but they always refer to a control centre and they then inturn say "na its taxed" ie not the DVLA's problem.

ANPR will see you number plate and check against DVLA which again will say its taxed so that wont pull you.

BUT!
if you get pulled for something else and they check your tax disc and its OAD then you can add £60 and 3 points on to what you've already got pulled for.

Time to start kicking up a stink Tim.......or take some time off until they sort it out so you're not driving a vehicle without a tax disk....lol. I know.....never gonna happen, but hey ho.

I am in copy of an email between my HR dept and the lease company requiring them to send me a replacement disc.

This was sent 2 days ago. So I guess it may be another week until am in receipt of the replacement depending just how the lease company request a duplicate from the DVLA.
