Balls - making me feel better

Just had a quote for £450 TPFT with unlimited miles which is pretty good, same old trying to missell you stuff with no come back though.
I'm on a restricted license to ride with accordance with my license I've had my bike restricted to a certain horse power, Do I require a certificate of restriction for my bike?
Nope, that's fine
Definitely?
Yes, you don't need to prove that to us
Can I have that in writing with my policy details?
erm, could you hold for a second?
.....
....
Hello sir, it's not up to us it's up to the underwriter.
So what do I require in the event of an accident, I don't have a certificate just a receipt from the dealer, will this suffice?
Yes

She wasn't forthcoming about giving her name at the end of the phonecall but I've took the date & time aswell as somesort of evidence.

Dave, if anyone on the phone at one of these companies doesn't want to give you their name, tell them they have to by law. It is your legal right to know who you are talking to. If they refuse, ask for them to put a supervisor on the phone. They may give you a false name, but more fool them if something ends up happening!

I just plain don't trust any insurance company after what Stretchie has gone through with MCE. They renewed his policy for him with no claims and he, like you had to get them to look into the file to prove he'd made a claim with them in the last 12 months. He asked if cover to ride other bikes was still on the policy as it had been last year, they said yes. He rode my bike, then documents arrived saying he wasn't covered. It took him hours on the phone to ensure they had all the correct details as trust me, when you make a claim, they'll do everything they possibly can to get out of paying it.

I got her name in the end But that's worth knowing - cheers!
Funny you should mention cover on other peoples bikes, we also went through that in this phonecall ;

she said 'with this policy you get unlimited miles and can ride any bike'
excellent....are you sure about that though?
Yes says here

one second

They're generally given a script and follow it. It really is a case now of the insured making sure the insurer has got everything right and most importantly of all.....checking it all in your documents when they arrive. The amount of time Stretchie has been assured of things on the phone, only to find they lied through their teeth when he's recieved the documents is just astonishing!

He means MCE!

I'd hate to add up the cost of the calls you've had to make to them love......probably well over £100!
