Great things kids do

When my Mum was alive she was a teacher in South Africa.

One day she showed her class a map of the world and told them the story of how my Grandad, her father, brought her family overland (across the Sahara desert etc) from Manchester to Durban to emigrate.

She explained all the exciting bits of sandstorms and how she nearly got eaten by a croc in a river and how her Dad shot it and the locals made leather out of the hide and ate the meat.

After this a child put their hand up, pointed at the map of the world and said excitedly...

'Miss...where's Checkers?' (like Sainsburys)

I was at work one saturday at the bike shop i work in, and all we could hear was basicly growling, so i had a look and it was a little boy running around, about 1 - 2 yrs old and he was pointing at the bikes and his Dad said it was the boys way of saying bike

I'm dreading that. Our twenty one year old son has been away for 3 years, but the others-aged 15 and 14 are still at home. I can't imagine an empty house, and I never thought I'd feel that way.

I love it now that its just him and me, my girls are 29 and 27 the older one has a boy of 8 but i doubt he will be into bikes, every time we turn the bikes over he s**ts himself and goes in the house

Although Libby bis not even 10 months old yet she loves watching the MotoGp, is completely mesmerised by it and Jess (nearly 7) now wants to give pillion a try

Took him round Coventry Museum of Transport today, he spend the whole time naming all the vehicles, car, truck, bus, tractor, etc, and going "brum, brum".

The only one he can't say is "Bike". His word for bicycle or motorbike was initially "Nan" and now it's become "Dan". Where did he get that from? Go figure I think he just made it up

When my son was about 2 1/2 yrs old I took him with me to buy me some new specs. I was being served by a very cute young lass aged about 20 whilst holding Dan in my arms. Every now and again he'd call "Daddy" to get my attention and I'd reply with "Not now Daniel, I'm talking" or "wait til I'm finished" - I knew he didn't need the loo cos he'd just been. After about 4 or 5 of these interuptions I was getting a bit peeved so said quite sharply "Yes Daniel, what do you want?", to which he pointed to the girl serving me and said with a big grin on his face "Daddy... she's a babe".

The poor girl didn't know how to take my smiling reply of "Yes, you're right, she is" so she went and got some fat ugly munter to serve me instead.

This reminds me of a thing with Matts Niece. She called Matts brother "deidre" instead of ben Which is hilarious due to the gender swap & the fact that deidre is harder to say than ben..!
