Clutch is good, gear shift is good, changing from Neutral to 1st through to 5th is smooth & not sticky. The change to 6 is not like a false neutral, it does set itself with a smooth click on toe up, but on releasing the clutch there is no engagement, clutchless change has the same effect. Had a small 5mph off when the bike was 1 week old, so I have learnt how to ride properly, otherwise spotless & has been solid for 7 years now. Does this help?

As Spannerman says, disconnect the gear lever and try selecting up to 6th using some mole grips or similar on the gear selector shaft.

If you can make 6th like that in the garage, then strip & clean the gear lever pivot, if you still only have 1st-5th then I'm afraid I stand by my previous suggestion.

Leave the arm on the selector shaft or hold it in a rag before you put mole grips on it.
