I've got these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Etymotic-Res...7442200&sr=1-4
![]() Sound isolation is much better than the Sennheiser or Sony headphones, almost as good as disposable plugs and their sound quality is absolutely outstanding. They do however get uncomfortable after a few hours and can leave your ears feeling a bit sore. I've got some custom monitors on the way though. I'll let you know the difference as I'll have had every combination by then ![]() |

Hmmm, to answer the question, if you want to isolate the sound then yes they are worth it. i have tried a few pairs from various price ranges and they do thier job. Not tried them on a bike however. I like to hear whats going on around me. I do listen to music on the bike but very rarely, mainly now on motorway journeys etc, never in town...ok once or twice!. If you isolate yourself from the outside world you wont hear things like sirens etc coming up behind you! If you do want this, then these are, afaik the cheapest noise cancelling earphones on the market http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...CANCELLING.htm
I rate Philips normal earphones highly. My last pair replaced my old Sony MDR74's which were superb, but the philips were half the price and just as good. Sadly i cant remember what the model number was, but they are avialiable in Currys Digital for £20. For the bike i use my phone and the headset that came with it, its a superb fit under the lid and the sound quality is really good. Edit, SHE8500 is the model i used to have Last edited by Viney; 01-03-10 at 11:46 AM. |

Active noise cancelling won't work on the bike unfortunately, the technology is still pretty crappy and not suitable for bikes.

![]() They mold to your ears the same way that foam ear plugs do. They are quite costly but I believe they are more than worth the cost ![]() |

you'll be pleased with the sennheiser headphones, they do sound good. i lost my last pair of them, ended up getting a pair of skull candy (smoking buds i think) but not that impressed with them if im honest. the sound quality from my CX300's was way better. i used to think people were talking crap when saying how much better some headphones were over others, till i had the sennheisers and i could ef tell they sounded better.

Yep, really pleased with mine. I dont need to have them too loud and noise cancellation is really good. TBH though, i dont really have anything to compare them too except the rubbish earphones that came with my phone. Sure you wont be disappointed x
